INFORMATIONAL PHONE NUMBERS
Neighborhood associations are a good resource for new arrivals, connecting them to established residents, business representatives and other interested citizens devoted to improving the Shreveport-Bossier area. These associations give neighborhood residents a voice and link them to the City Council, local government agencies and the community.

PETS
With all the major concerns of relocation, pets can sometimes get less attention and care than they're used to. Make sure any pet receives these essentials of care in your new home:
• Have your pet wear a collar and ID tag with your name and contact info
• License your dog and have your pet vaccinated for rabies
• Remember to take your pet to regular check-ups with a veterinarian
• Remain patient and loyal with your companion during this adjustment period

The Caddo Parrish Animal Shelter provides public safety in response to animal-related incidents as well as ensuring the humane treatment of animals. Its mission includes promoting responsible pet ownership through positive influence and education. The shelter helps provide new homes for abandoned animals. There is no resident location requirement to adopt a pet from the facility, but applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide an ID. A $50 fee applies to all adoptions. All pets have undergone a health exam and are up to date on all of their vaccinations. Adult animals are spayed or neutered before adoption, and those that are not receive a voucher to have the procedure done.
